We both worked together at Elon’s recreation center and met during our senior year in the fall of 2018. We worked many shifts together and grew a strong friendship bonding over adventure, photography, music, & videography.
By winter, we realized we were becoming more than friends.

By spring, our friend groups were growing close & so were we. We had such a fun last semester together at Elon & decided to give long distance a try. Kyle was headed to the Bay, and Darby was headed to Hawaii.
the ca world tour
After what felt like an eternity of long distance (and a pandemic), we couldn’t imagine spending another day apart. What started as a California road trip turned into something much bigger. From falling in love with San Diego, to a chapter in San Francisco, to a year of chasing adventure, every stop brought us closer to figuring out what felt like home. In 2023, after a lot of miles and conversations, we landed in San Luis Obispo and knew we were done searching.

We grew our roots in SLO, and by summer, we knew we were ready to take the next step. Kyle proposed 2 days after his birthday, on October 4th. he popped the question at the most insane lookout, and it was absolutely perfect. Our hearts were so full, and we couldn’t wait for what was next.

We spent most of 2025 really enjoying the place we now call home. We simply can’t think of a more intentional time and place than getting married on October 3rd, 2026, in beautiful SLO. We’re so excited to show you around, celebrate Kyle’s 30th, and get married on the 2nd anniversary of our engagement!
